Do It Yourself Roof Repair

Roof system maintenance and repairs are essential to extend the roof’s service life. When a roof defect is discovered, the problem, and not just the symptom should be corrected. Generally, “band-aid”, temporary roof repairs do not provide long term benefits and can result in more costly repairs in the future.

The repair procedures presented in this website do not represent all of the methods available and may contain methods that are not be considered best practices by the NRCA or your roofing contractor. They are published here for information purposes only. Oftentimes, structural and budget constraints necessitate these types of roof repairs until a textbook solution can be feasibly done. In these cases, you should determine suitability of materials and installation methods as they might not apply to your specific roof type or problem.
